Simple Ayurveda

Ä€yur = Life
Veda = Wisdom
If you’re dealing with persistent health issues and sub-clinical symptoms that doctors dismiss, it’s possible that Ä€yurveda can help you.
Āyurveda approaches health from a whole-person viewpoint. Simple Āyurvedic Guidance can include suggestions such as:
- Changing the times of day you eat
- Simple, easy and delicious whole-food recipes to try
- Understanding your dosha (pattern of imbalance) and how to balance it
- Herbs, Teas, and Spices to add to improve digestion and elimination
- Mindful Eating practices (such as limiting distractions, mindful chewing, etc to improve digestion)
- Self-Care practices, such as self-oil massage (abhyanga) and breathwork/visualization practices
- Daily rhythms and Seasonal rhythms, and understanding both
Don’t underestimate the power of simple changes! Your mind and emotions are the most refined end product of what you eat. Improving your relationship to food and strengthening your digestion can have a massive effect on your mental and emotional health as well!
I’m here to support you in making & maintaining those changes. Ä€yurveda is included in Holistic Healing Packages.
What is Ayurveda?
Āyurveda is the ancient science of a life well-lived, in alignment with natural rhythms. Āyurveda is Traditional Indian Medicine, and is possibly the oldest system of medicine in the world. It is still used all over India today. There is some cross-over with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) but they are different systems.
My personal journey with Āyurveda has helped me heal persistent brain fog and fatigue due to nutritional deficiencies, completely recover from long COVID, and significantly improve both hormonal and emotional imbalances.
When you google Ä€yurveda, you will likely find a lot of conflicting information and suggestions, different food lists of what to eat and what not to eat, and a multitude of different practices. This can be confusing, as it’s hard to know which practices are right for you.
This is actually a reflection of the deep wisdom of Ä€yurveda — there IS no one-size-fits-all! The ancients knew that every body/mind is different, unique, and needs a customized approach.
Sustainable Change
Have you ever tried to cut out a certain food habit and found yourself struggling with cravings ? Our relationship to food often involves deep-entrenched habits and patterns that are quite stubborn and resistant to change.
That’s why we don’t focus so much on foods to avoid (this is not a quick-fix or crash diet), but on adding in sustainable changes, a little at a time, that are right for you. This sets you up for long-term health improvement.
I am not a full Āyurvedic practitioner (this requires many years of study). I can offer simple changes and tailored guidance, which alone can make a big difference for most people, especially when combined with the other supports offered in the Holistic Healing Package.
A fully trained practitioner can offer you more in-depth guidance in diagnosing and understanding your current imbalances, implementing more specific interventions, and guiding you in deeper practices such as Āyurvedic cleansing and fasting. If a referral is needed, this is something we can discuss in your free consultation.
